Blofield isn't just a village in the English district of Norfolk, it's also a Dutch company founded by the young designer Jeroen van de Kant. Blofield concentrates on the production of inflatable furniture in the traditional British Chesterfield style. That's why the company name involves a pun, which is a combination of the words "blowing" and "Chesterfield".
What's special about the Blofield chairs and sofas is not only the almost authentic Chesterfield look but also the inflation technique involving a 230 V electric pump, which has been developed by Jeroen van de Kant.
Thanks to the materials PVC and vinyl the Blofield chairs and sofas can also be used outside. Every product comes with a carrying bag, which enables to transport the furniture to where it is needed.
The reinterpretation of Chesterfield sofas led to a witty and contemporary version of seating furniture, which has once been used preferably by Lords and Ladies. The Chesterfield-like tacks that add a three-dimensional pattern to the upholstery can be found among many contemporary furniture concepts. Even though the Blofield furniture predominantly consists of air and therefore could do without buttons, it nevertheless has a very authentic and trendy appearance with them.
