The analogue wristwatch was designed in 1989 and it was the first one of Flemming Bo Hansen's sketched wristwatches. The idea for it emerged in Flemming Bo Hansen's vision of creating a wristwatch without any unnecessary functions. The watch doesn't display anything else than the time and it has therewith already deserved the style icon predicate.
The simplicity and the clear lines of the Watch II are characteristic for it, they are Flemming Bo Hansen's emblem and therewith also displayed in every one of his design watches. Watch II is available in four editions, two large ones and two small models. Two watches have an analogue display and the other two have a digital one, and typical for Flemming Bo Hansen, these watches also renounce any buttons and unnecessary functions. The digital watches display the rime and the date, and the analogue watches display the time – only the time.
According to Flemming Bo Hansen, digital watches symbolize modern people and the way they think. The keywords are effectiveness and precision here. Time can be displayed effectively and precisely on a digital watch. Flemming Bo Hansen believes that analogue watches symbolize feminine values such as the roundness and softness contrasting the digital ones.
Blank polished, allergy-tested stainless steel and reinforced, mineral glass as well as plastic have been used as materials to produce the Watch II – design watches. The Watch II is waterproof down to 30m.
