Paul Voss is a metal devices designer who leads the artistic handicraft department of the Solingen University for Metal Design after several years of working in the USA. This gave rise to his his acquaintance with Carl Pott, one of his students. Paul Voss introduced Carl Pott to the goals and thoughts of Bauhaus and Werkbund.
When it was introduced to the market (1951), Model 20 was revolutionary. It represented a new generation of cutlery: short blade, short fork edge and a small oval spoon shape. Today, Model 20 is a perennial set. In the beginning of the 70s, it was added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
