This Oiva set from Marimekko brings double the joy. It consists of two egg cups - one in the Alku -pattern, the other mug is decorated with the well-known floral Unikko pattern. The stoneware set is dishwasher, oven, microwave and freezer safe.

The bean-like shapes of the Alku -pattern represent seeds that grow into magnificent, vibrant flowers. They symbolize a new beginning, as spring is, hence the name Alku - "beginning" in Finnish.

The famous Unikko poppy pattern from Marimekko was created in 1964 at a time when the design house's collections mainly featured abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to make something interesting out of this organic theme and created a whole series of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower stands for creativity.

In a way, the set represents an evolution - the inconspicuous seed grows into a magnificent flower.
