Iittala proudly presents the Sarjaton collection and encourages a completely new understanding of tableware, as modern interpretation of Finnish traditions. The soft contours and the extraordinary decors of this exciting collection allow multiple facets for a contemporary dining culture.
Iittala grouped six young Finnish designers out of fashion, product, graphic and digital design, in order to create a collection which wouldn't only respect the handicraft arts and dining rituals, but which also included current values. Sarjaton is the result of an innovative and joint design process, inspired by the Finnish lifestyle and a more conscious life.
Translated Sarjaton means "without series" – the different pieces support each other, are combinable with other collections, but also look gorgeous on their own. They enable creative combinations according to individual demands, are suitable for different events and thereby re-define flexibility.
Sarjaton is a complete and still reduced selection of 26 single pieces, with the focus on the feel, the design and the use of materials.. The single Sarjaton pieces consist of glass, ceramics, ash wood and textiles, which can be combined with all kinds of products. Natural, muted shades make up the base for tactile surfaces with patterns and reliefs on glossy as well as semi-matt glazing.
