The 9091 kettle by Richard Sapper was the first design kettle by Alessi and announced a new era of water boilers - for Alessi and many other kettle manufacturers in 1983. It is suitable for electro-, gas-, and induction stoves.

The actual heart of the water boiler are the melodic pipes which are made of brass, whos tubes create two-voices sounds, as soon as the water boils.

Richard Sapper wanted to disclaim on a importunate sound on his kettle design for Alessi. This musical challenge devoted in the ultimate result the 9091 Water Boiler, which was interpreted at Alessi as first multi-sensoric design.
