Crevasse is a sculptural flower vase, designed by the popular Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid.
The characteristic Form from the vase arises from the combination from rotation and inversion of a trapezoidal form. The turned sides from Crevasse emphasize the vertical form, but do also offer movement and agility to the vase, bringing tension to the otherwise "frozen" form like this.
At Crevasse, the name leads to the inspiration source of the designer Zaha Hadid: the sharp contours made out of stainless steel rise into the room that seems to be cut by the vase at the same time, like the front edge of an arctic glacier (Crevasse).
The multiple prizes honoured architect transmitted her architectonic approach on Crevasse, and the product design, creating an elegant vase that wears her architectonic embossing towering from the mass for that very reason.
With the sophisticated and straight-lined-elegant design, the Crevasse flower vase does perfectly integrate itself in the Officina Alessi collection that includes the most sophisticated and experimental products from Alessi since all times.
