The hand is first and foremost, a gripping tool for humans.
Mute people use them as a way to communicate but for everybody else, hand signs and gestures can also be a way to emphasise or express something.
In football, their use is prohibited, unless it is the "hand of God", as it had been in the World Cup 68. Of course, the term "Hand of God" comes originally from religion, where it is a very old and widespread religious symbol for the power of God. This is the reason why it adorns numerous stained glass windows and paintings. Many profane artists also concentrated on the hand, such as Albrecht Dürer in his image "Praying Hands".
Finally, it requires a careful study of the motor and the proportions of hands to immortalise it in a work of art. This is why there are hand models made out of wood.
With "Wooden Hand", the Danish company Hay offers a model of the hand which provides a number of functions. It can be used as a pen holder, somewhere to hang your rings and other jewellery or simply as a decorative object.
The Wooden Hand is made out of high quality Samak wood and available in three different sizes. The pendant "Wooden Foot" is also available matching the Wooden Hand.
