A Hoptimist made out of wood – just as the designer Gustav Ehrenreich initially wanted it. This is the reason why Lotte Steffensen re-designed the Woody Bimble.
Ehrenreich, who created the Hoptimists in the 1960ies, was a trained cabinet maker. Right from the start it was his greatest desire to make the Hoptimists (who meanwhile have turned into real classic pieces) out of wood, but this wasn't possible with the time's technology. Time however, worked for this idea: in order to make Ehrenreich's dream come true, the happy Bimbles & Bumbles now are also available made of wood. Bimble is the charming girl of the series and she smiles mischievously.
Her male counterpart is Bumble, the one who looks amused and clever with his alert eyes. It is an item piece of real handicraft, a high quality product that is completely assembled by hand. The oak wood stems from sustainable European woods. The natural material gives every single Hoptimist its unmistakable appearance. One special detail: The eyes are made out of inlays of Wengé wood and give the figures liveliness.
