Animal Figure by Kay Bojesen
The horse made of high-quality walnut wood belongs to the wooden design family of the Danish designer Kay Bojesen. Reduced language of forms and colours add character and expression to the animal, whether standing alone or together with other animal designs.
Design Object with Soul
The trained silversmith Kay Bojesen began working with wood in the early 1930s and created this horse within a series of many other wooden animals. The stiff, widely separated legs and the big mane are similar to the Zebra. The simple lines and reduced language of forms make it clear that the artist didn't want to represent the animals as we see them in nature.
High-Quality Walnut Wood
The horse receives its warm and gentle glow through the oiled walnut wood. The lively grain is typical of the hard wood and gives an individual character to each animal. The horse brings joy as collectible or imaginative gift.
