Thanks to the Rosenthal miniature collection, the unusual Fast Vase from the studio-line is now also available as miniature version. It reflects the image of the archetypical Ming dynasty vase, frozen in a digital time lapse.
A mixture of collective memory and futuristic abstraction symbolises the cultural shift, triggered by digital technology: the speed of information processing, its obsolescence, and its secession.
The miniature vase Fast illustrates this process just like the large versions.
The time-lapse effect is expressed by the metaphorical decoration of the vase, while on the other hand, displayed by high-tech tools, 500 years of human manufacturing are summed up. A fascinating interpretation of the social changes of our time and another outstanding object of the Rosenthal studio-line, designed by Cédric Ragot. In 2007, the Fast vase was awarded with the renowned Good Design Award of the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
