The Butterfly Stool by Vitra connects eastern forms with the Charles & Ray Eames technique of processing plywood, on a unique way. The Japanese designer Sori Yanagi already designed the Butterfly Stool in the year 1954.
The softly swung silhouette of both seats of the Butterfly Stool reminds of the wings of a butterfly, that is the reason why it has its name. Vitra manufactures the Butterfly Stool out of lacquered form-plywood in different editions. The fittings consist of brass.
The Butterfly Stool is in the collection of the Vitra Design Museum.
