Garden Bench Made of Steel and Wood
Artek's Kiila Bench is a design by designer Daniel Rybakken, inspired by one of Finland's greatest designers, Alvar Aalto. The originality that can often be seen in Aalto's designs can also be found in the Kiila Bench. Minimalist yet extravagant in design, the bench corresponds to Artek's design language and fits wonderfully into the existing range of the Finnish manufacturer.
Angular Seat - Rounded Legs
The design of the bench is characterised by its straight seat, which is connected to the legs by a wedge-shaped. Kiila is the Finnish word for the wedge-shaped metal element. The four legs are made of ash wood and provide an exciting contrast to the angular seat due to their soft contours and natural material. The individual elements are connected by metal pins, which are clearly visible and thus take up Aalto's originality. Rybakken deliberately opted for the visibility of the construction, creating a transparent design that keeps nothing hidden from the user.
Placed in the entrance area, the bench serves as a seat on which to put on shoes as well as a practical storage space. Together with the other hall furniture from the Kiila family, an inviting and stylish ambience can be created.
