The 90A table from Artek was designed by Alvar Aaltop in the year 1935. The table 90A is one of the tables that Aalto designed for the Viipuri library. The whole series includes various table sizes, down of extendable versions, as well as four-legged, three-legges with round, half round or square table-boards.
Like the Viipuri chairs, the table-legs consist of laminated birch wood, bended to an L-form: the first successes from Aaltos experiments at bending laminated wood. He achieved highly interesting results with this intends: slightly lively pieces of furniture that wouldn't find the likes of them in the 1930es or later on.
The round, four-legged table 90A can be used as a side-table or as a couch table, but it is also suitable as a night table or a decorative entrance hall object. The four legs of the table consist of bright lacquered nature birch, as well as the original design, whereas the 4 cm thick board appears available in different variations: birch veneer, white laminate or black linoleum.
The table is also available with HL1 legs.
