Vitra Eames RAR Rocking Chair with Plastic Seat Shell

Plastic Armchairs were first presented as part of the famous New York Museum of Modern Art competition "Low Cost Furniture Design" in 1948. Their organically shaped seat made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic was later combined with many different bases, such as the RAR's rockers, and produced in the millions. In their latest version made of polypropylene, the Armchairs now offer even greater sitting comfort.

The rocking chair Eames RAR of the Eames Plastic Armchairs from the Vitra Home Collection is available in various colours.

Limited Edition 2017

The popular rocking chair is now available in a new limited edition version with a cream coloured seat on an ivory-colored powder-coated frame with lightly stained maple wood rockers. Kept entirely in light shades, the model has a contemporary feel and adds a rich touch in darker environments, while subtly blending into brighter settings. Available only while stocks last.
