With the aim of designing a contemporary armchair for Hay , Shane Schneck has used classic forms and placed them in a modern context. The base of the Bernard chair is a solid wood frame with rounded legs and curved armrests.
Instead of lush upholstery, the armchair is covered in a fabric or leather, which makes for a great contrast between the two elements. The simple cover gives the armchair a light and airy feel and doesn't look bulky even in small rooms.
