Ergonomic high chair with a traditional Danish history
The Shoemaker Chair by Form & Refine is a Danish classic from 1936 that adapts to every body shape and is versatile. The seat with the anatomically shaped curves consists of a large, solid piece of wood and is supported by the three chair legs. The T-connection between the legs contributes to stability. Due to the naturally different wood grain, each chair is unique and brings Nordic aesthetics into the dining room or living room.
After the chair was first manufactured in 1936, the Werner woodturning family refined the shape of the shoemaker's chair over three generations, improved the design and production, and made the chair what it is today: a real, archetypal one Classic. To this day, every copy is produced in the family-owned wood turnery Gislev Drejerforretning on the Danish island of Funen.
Beech and oak in different designs
Depending on the version, the Shoemaker Chair is made of solid European beech or oak. It is also available in various natural colors and heights. So it can also be used as a bar stool, office or dining chair.
The designers Werner say about the product:“We worked tirelessly to optimize the early versions of the chair and adjusted smaller things every year, both in the production process and in the finished product. Among other things, the T-support between the legs was added for more stability, and the seat was changed in shape and rounded - if the chair falls over, the round profile now prevents the edge of the seat from breaking. ”
