Pastil Chair from 1967
The idea for the Pastil Chair came to Eero Aarnio, when he thought about his Ball chair in 1967 and realised how much space he had wasted inside the ball when it was sent around the world by post. He wanted to create a seat that would fit perfectly into the Ball Chair. The Pastil Chair is made of fibreglass.
Addition to the Ball Chair
The diameter of the Pastil Chair is exactly as big as the opening of the Ball Chair. The two creations complement each other perfectly and together form an extraordinary unit. Even alone, the Pastil Chair is an extremely comfortable seat. Pastil offers the possibility to let yourself fall backwards and to swing back and forth. It is perfectly suited to relax on for a few hours and to enjoy the beauty of doing nothing.
The World's Most Comfortable Chair
The Pastil Chair enriches any room, not only because of its comfortable and appealing shape but also due its special, pastel-like colours, that make the design a well-rounded creation.
The New York Times simply called it "the most comfortable chair in the world". Being made of fibreglass, it is suited for indoor as well as outdoor use.
