The linen and cotton made tea towel by Artek is a sophisticated piece textile out of the classic Siena collection by Alvar Aalto.
Alvar Aalto designed his Siena pattern in 1954: a design, which acts architecturally clear as well as weightless. Aalto's basic idea was to create a pattern for textiles, which would be useful for the most different purposes – Aalto's second wife Elissa even had a dress in the Siena design.
The 50 x 70 cm Siena tea towel consists of linen and cotton, and that's the reason why it is very absorptive and pleasant to be touched. The different products out of the collection from Artek are wonderfully combinable with each other because of the multiple possibilities offered by the Siena design.
