The exceptional chandelier Birdie was designed by Ingo Maurer in 2002. Every single bulb has a pair of wings. They remind of small, bright birds that fly around the lamp in a swarm.
As often before, this Ingo Maurer lamp has its focus on the bulb. Every one of the 12 bulbs has a pair of wings. The lamp consists of a frame that holds 12 bulbs that remind of lightning birds.
The Birdie wings consist of goose feathers, the metal parts are tinned. In the lamps' baldachin there are two integrated transformers. The chandelier is driven by 12 low-voltage-bulbs (230/125/24V, max. 180W (12 x max. 15W), holder E27). The delivery package includes illuminants and two replacement bulbs.
Birdie was designed for rooms with a ceiling height from 230 up to 260 cm. The chandelier is not adapted for rooms with a high air-humidity. The lamp cable is available in a transparent version, as well as in red/blue.
