Classic cross-folded umbrella rotated 90 degrees
The Caleo pendant lamp by Rikke Frost for Le Klint is known to every Dane from the TV show "Denmark's Next Classic". For her design, Rikke Frost combined a brass frame with a classic pleated umbrella from Le Klint. The folds of the shade could be turned 90 degrees due to the frame, which gives the lamp a modern look. It combines novel elements with the Danish craftsmanship of folding umbrellas.
The name comes from Latin and means "to emphasize" - an allusion to the elegant brown lines of the lamp, which are applied by hand.
"With only three weeks to design a new dining table lamp, I quickly came across paper as the obvious material. On the drawing board the idea matured of scattering the light through a more or less closed, folded "paper ball". Because of the short time, I sent Le Klint probably the simplest and simplest sketch I have ever sent to a potential cooperation partner. Fortunately, they took up the idea, and together we developed the lamp." Rikke Frost.
With its beautiful details and pleated shade, the luminaire radiates elegance and exclusivity. Inspired by the luminaire from the television programme, a Caleo series was created which, in addition to the original luminaire, also contains spherical pendant luminaires in small and medium-sized sizes.
The pattern and lines are retained in the new luminaires, while the suspension and orientation of the pattern are more traditional in the new addition to the Caleo family.
