Mother of pearl lamp DM10
Panton took a close look at his environment and regarded everything as a source of inspiration for his designs. The Fun Lamp from 1964 is a great example of his love of detail. Here he combines naturalness, creativity and functionality, creating a design piece that appeals to all senses.
Made of numerous mother-of-pearl elements, the lamp inspires with a multifaceted play of light that nevertheless appears natural and delicate. In addition, the small elements create a light sound, reminiscent of a gentle chime, thus creating contemplative calm.
Pearl light from Verpan
The Fun 10DM is composed of semi-transparent, round mother-of-pearl plates, which are flexibly connected to each other by small metal rings: Organized into chains of different lengths, the plates hang from four metal rings. The actual light source of the Verpan lamp is hidden behind the plates - like the pearl of a shell. It is not without reason that the lamp is also known as Mother of Pearl - M.O.P. (engl. mother of pearl) Because of its fragile and graceful appearance one could call the Fun But we also call Lamp the "mother of all pearls".
Brass or chrome
The noble lamp with the E37 socket is available in a brass and a chrome version, as well as in different sizes.
