The Canned Light from Ingo Maurer converts the famous American can in a pendant lamp. The "Campbells Tomato Soup"-can that also became famous by the Andy Warhol pictures, becomes a fluorescent lampshade at Ingo Maurer's.
The idea for the Canned Light design came from Christoph Matthias and Hagen Sczech in the year 2003. The Canned Light appears as a conserve can that is not filled with foodstuff but with a bulb, a reflector, a bulb-holder, a cable and a switch. If the can is opened, you can hold the assembly material in your hands.
After the assembly the Canned Light is height-adjustable through the deflection rolls and the adjusting ring. The cable has a 200 cm length. The lamp consists of one conserve can, aluminium, stainless steel and synthetic.
The light of the Canned Light shines from the inside of the can downwards. To enable the pendant lamp, Ingo Maurer suggests a halogen illuminant G9 max. 60W, 230/125V.
