Design trends Christmas 2015: Individuality is determined by the furnishing

News of 2015-11-03, from Anja Beckmann

There is not the one style for Christmas 2015. The furnishing and decoration of this year's advent time is decided by individuality amd lifestyle. Three completely different music styles dominate the design innovations of the Christmas season: noble, rustic and playful. These are combined as desired and find themselves in a unique style.

"Trend is what we decide", explains Markus Abraham, head of assortment of the Connox GmbH, one of the leading online shops for design furniture and home accessories, "The broadband of newss offers much gambling space to combine and design to customers."

Noble and rustic - a powerful combination

Surfaces such as gold, palladium, copper and brass are classic for Christmas and should not be missing this year. The manufacturers Georg Jensen, known for elegant objects and precious materials, expanded the annual Christmas collection with various collectibles by Louise Campbell - including the gold-plated Christmas tree ornaments made of brass with 24 carat gold plating. The Danish manufacturer ferm living surprised with brass accessories. The Kubus candleholders of by Lassen remain popular and trendy this year. By Lassen also offers them in brass for the first time in 2015, besides the editions of copper and nickel.

The novelties of the manufacturers Skagerak, Jan Kurtz and Novoform create rustic ambiance. Christmas decoration made of solid wood or wood veneer and Christmas objects in nature-look conquer the winter living room. Also wooden Christmas tree ornaments experienced a brilliant comeback this year. "The combination of dark wood objects with fine brass accessories is effective: The contrast of materials creates tension, however, the harmonious shades provide a balanced connection regarding the look", says Markus Abraham.

Modern alternatives: colourful and playful

Friends of modern and playful things will find design classics of Alessi and Hoptimist. They concentrate on colourful and comic book-like design objects: a Nativity scene with ball design, playful advent candles, Santa Hoptimists and sculptures in the style of comics. Also a blocks crib by corpus delicti is still popular and one original idea for purists.

Iittala appears with new products of the 2015 launched Tanssi collection at the right time: The Tanssi collection combines a wide range of home accessories with imaginative and colourful motifs, resembling the residents of an enchanted forest. "Tanssi" is Finnish and means "Dance". Artist Klaus Haapaniemi was inspired by the Czech opera "The cunning little vixen", a sad and at the same time beautiful story about coexistence between animals and humans in the eternal cycle of life.
