Since childhood, the Dutch designer Carolina Wilcke (1980) has been interested in various forms of creativity. In 2009, the trained goldsmith completed her design studies with a focus on interior furnishing products at the Design Academy Eindhoven.
The designer's special style was already visible in her first installation. She presented the three-dimensional still life "Tafelgenoten" (table partner), for which she was inspired by seventeenth-century painters who showed their versatility by painting diverse textures.
With her installation, she showed that art can be interpreted in a functional way and transported into the present.
Her background as a goldsmith combined with the artistic, design-related studies remain visible in all of her designs. Her artistic design language is pure and clear with the main focus on the design and the particular detail of the product.
