Cecilie Manz

Cecilie Manz

Cecilie Manz was born in 1972 in the Danish Odsherred. Within her diploma thesis at the Danish School of Design designed Cecilie Manz 1997 "Surface", a furniture, which does not fit in any categorisation. It can be used as a bank, a lawn bed, a low table, or just as a book holder.

Besides her studies in Copenhagen Cecilie Manz started 1995 to study at the department for furniture design and interior design at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. She was really interested in the design tradition of Finland and the international beginning in the finnish design, which Cecilie Manz often in the designer scene missed.

After an employement in 1997 in an architecture studio at Professor Yrjö Wiherheimos in Finnland, did she establish in 1998 "Manz Lab", her own designer studio in Copenhagen. Since 2005 did she work in cooperation with the Danish tradition businessman and glass producer Holmegaard, for which she the popular glass "Minima" and the candle glass "Light Bottle" designed.
