Clemens Weisshaar was born in Munich in 1977. After a metalworking apprenticeship, he studied at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London and the Royal College of Art.
After three years as assistant for Konstantin Grcic, he founded his own office in 2000. He advises Rem Koolhaas' research office AMO on industrial design-related issues and currently works on projects that range from strategic advice to exhibition architecture and product design.
Clemens Weisshaar lives and works in Munich and Stockholm. Together with Reed Kram (born 1971 in Ohio), Weisshaar founded the firm Kram/Weisshaar in 2002 as a platform for multidisciplinary activities. From offices in Munich and Stockholm, the firm focusses on designing rooms, spaces, products and media. Kram/Weisshaar's latest projects: Design and realisation of media concept and media installations for the Rem Koolhaas-designed PRADA Epicentre Store in Beverly Hills, an interactive installation for the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, software for visualising complex data structures for the BMW Group and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, masterplan and exhibition architecture for "The Design Annual" in Frankfurt, switches and interfaces for Merten and furniture for Moroso and Classicon.
Kram/Weisshaar's work is part of the collections at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Die Neue Sammlung in Munich and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
