Florentijn Hofman

Dutch designer known for an oversized art installation

Florentijn Hofman is a Dutch artist who studied at the present ArtEZ Art & Design Zwolle in Kampen (Netherlands) as well as at the Kunsthochschule in Berlin. He currently lives and works in Arnhem.

The designer is known for his oversized art installations in animal form, which are often exhibited in large cities and sometimes even become a permanent part of the city. His works include a 30-metre long party aardvark, which is currently in Arnhem, and a 31-metre long muskrat made of straw. One of his internationally most famous works of art is the Rubber Duck, an oversized inflatable squeaking duck, which was produced in various sizes from 2007 onwards and has been exhibited in many cities around the world, including Saint-Nazaire, Nuremberg, Los Angeles and Shanghai.

For Fatboy, Florentijn Hofman has designed the CO9 XS rabbit, a 180 cm high soft toy that is suitable for both the children's room and the contract sector.
