George Sowden

The name "Sowden" possesses the highest international design-reputation. The Britain George J. Sowden studied architecture in the 1960es. In the 1970es he moved to Milan, where he runs his design office still today. As co-founder of the Memphis-Group surrounding Ettore Sottsass, Matteo Thun, Michael Graves and others, he had an important part of the design development, not only of the 1980es. Swatch, Olivette, Alessi, Bodum, Moulinex, Pyrex, Tefal, Guzzini stand on his customer's list.

After many years of work for external purchasers, George Sowden himself became a brand article. His name essentially ornaments useful design objects for the household area. The products are partly characterized by complete new functionality in connection with the Sowden typical handwriting: soft, without edges and borders.

Brunch is the first enjoy topic for which a whole Sowden product's series has been developed. Thereby the patent pending "SoftBrew"-technique which makes coffee brewing uncomplicated, individual, versatile and new stands in the focus of attention.
