Every one of the designer's products contains a connection to Scandinavian design tradition.Hee Welling was born in 1974 in Copenhagen and in the 90s attended numerous art and design schools in Denmark.After gaining his first experience as a furniture designer in Vietnam and Scandinavia, he opened the Hee Welling Studio in his hometown in 2003 and graduated from his studies at the Danish Design School there as a furniture designer.Since 2004 he has himself taught at the renowned school.

It's not just through teaching that Hee Welling has made a name for himself in the design industry in recent years.With his studio and in collaboration with design firms such as Hay, he has created innovative furniture achieving worldwide fame within just a few years.This includes the Hee Chair, as well as About A Chair and its many variations.His furniture has made it into the Oslo Opera House, Australian parliament, Amazon headquarters and Danish parliament.Founder Rolf Hay is focussing on a long-term partnership with the promising design talent.In his opinion, Welling has already secured his place in the history of modern, functional Scandinavian furniture design with the Hee Chair, designed for Hay.In 2015, Hee Welling captured a place on the list of the top 200 designers in Architonic magazine.
