Jakob Timpe

Jakob Timpe was born in Würzburg, Germany in 1967. He studied architecture at the Technical University Berlin and Darmstadt, where he graduated in 1994 as an architect. His speciality is designing interior and exterior rooms, lamps and furniture.

After his studies Timpe worked in Leipzig, Munich, Cologne and Barcelona in various architecture firms and taught from 1999 to 2004 as a research assistant at the Technical University Darmstadt. In 2005, Timpe received a scholarship from the German Academy of Rome, Villa Massimo, the most prestigious award for German artists abroad. He founded his own office js+o studio in Berlin in 2006.

Famous institutions such as the Goethe Institute and the European Commission as well as name-brand companies such as Serien.Lightning and Magis are represented amongst his clientele.
