Designer Paola Suhonen

Paola Ivana Suhonen is a Helsinki-born designer, fashion designer and movie maker. The Finn draws her inspiration from sombre landscapes, Nordic mythology and Western romance.

Paola Suhonen works mainly for her fashion label Ivana Helsinki. The family business places emphasis on exclusivity and quality: only unique pieces produced in small batches are made with all knits coming from Finland and Lapland. Ivana Helsinki was the first Scandinavian fashion label that participated in Paris Fashion Week and has collaborated on numerous projects where fashion, design and arts are combined.

The intersection of different interests is also reflected in Suhonen's CV: she graduated from the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki and also studied at the prestigious American Film Institute. Ivana Suhonen doesn't just create fashion, as she is also a movie maker, and designs products for international companies. The mixture of past and present is important for the talented Finnish all-rounder: you can see this in how she combines tasteful, detailed refinement with clear, contemporary charm.

Companies for whom Suhonen has worked in product development and print/concept design include Head Snowboards, Google, Swarovski, Coca-Cola, Canon, Artek, Amnesty International, Jalo and many more.
