Objects as a continuous process of change
Taidgh O'Neill is an artist and designer who lives and works in Los Angeles. He trained as a carpenter and studied fine arts at UCLA. After graduating, he founded his own studio and workshop, from where he plans and implements conversions of private and commercial real estate. His furniture design designs are unique pieces or are produced in small quantities.
I am interested in making things look broken and at the same time stable in this brokenness" Taidgh O'Neill.
His formal language is characterised by natural materials and minimalist forms, which are strongly oriented towards the designs of artists such as Donald Judd. His works move between art, design and craftsmanship and reflect proportions from abstract painting and sculpture. Taidgh O'Neill understands his work as a continuous process of change between a functional and a sculptural identity of the objects.
