LindDNA - Danish Design and Recycled Leather
LindDNA is a Danish company based in Aarhus that produces home accessories and furniture made of Danish wood and recycled leather. Lind DNA was founded by the sisters Bine and Mie Lind in 2013. Together with her father Preben Lind, they just happened to develop the idea of making recycled leather design products one evening at the dining table. Preben Lind is also the one who successfully runs the company with more than 1000 products.
The leather used at LindDNA comes from leather scraps leftover from the production of bags, shoes and other garments. Cut and then reconnected with natural rubber, the leather is an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional leather and requires less resources. Thanks to its 20% rubber content, the recycled LindDNA leather is particularly robust, water and dirt repellent and thus easy to clean.
Danish wood and durability
The rough Scandinavian forests, especially the Danish oak tree, are a recurrent theme in LindDNA's designs. Oak is a robust and hard wood that makes the designs sturdy and durable. Durability is very important to LindDNA and comes first in every design.
It is the same with wool or other materials. They all come from Denmark and are processed with great care in local workshops. Each step is performed at best by hand. Although this takes longer, each piece can be unique and develops its own story in the creative process. The label "Made in Denmark" is not a business strategy at LindDNA but an attitude towards life.
