Summer pattern with sea of flowers
The new Ruukku pattern from Marimekko shows a delicate, waving sea of flowers with red tones on a blue background. The pretty pattern was designed in 1970 by the Finnish designer Maija Isola, for whom nature has been a source of inspiration throughout her career. In the course of her life she designed a whole series of floral motifs in different styles.
On home textiles such as cushion covers, potholders, bags and aprons, the pattern provides a cheerful Ruukku and aprons, the pattern adds a cheerful, summery accent. Marimekko also uses Ruukku but also trays and placemats that enhance any dining table.
