Retap is a Scandinavian company that was founded at the end of 2009 by four experienced and hard-working businessmen. The aim of the company was to replace PET bottles and plastic cups with reusable drinking bottles.
Every year more than 15 million tonnes of plastic waste is produced, the majority of which are plastic bottles. Plastic recycling needs the same amount of petroleum as the energy consumption of one million cars, without taking into account the transportation of the water bottles. In addition, when PET bottles are used more than once, pollutants can be released into the water.
Unlike unsuccessful "going green" debates, Retap offers a practical solution. With its drinking bottles, the young company offers a sustainable alternative to plastic bottles and cups.
Retap is committed to spreading awareness whilst offering a healthy and environmentally-friendly way of drinking water without sacrificing design and style.
By the way: Retap is an acronym for "Refill – Tap water". This is because the environmentally-friendly bottles are filled with tap water from your own home, which is not only of excellent quality in this country, but it also requires 2,000 times less energy from nature than still water from the supermarket.
