Colourful Canvas Graphics
Alexander Girard was a versatile, skilled architect and designer of furniture and textiles, interior design, graphic design, exposition design and industrial design. The Graphic Panels by Vitra represent the versatility and the graphic skills of the American designer.
Cheerful colours and patterns, abstract and geometric shapes or unique colour constellations: this is the world of Alexander Girard. The architect and designer is one of the formative figures of American post-war design. The focus of his creations was designing textiles. Doing so, he developed his love for colours, textures and graphic patterns. His designs such as the Canvas Graphics now enhance the accessories collection of Vitra.
During his travels, Girard enthusiastically collected textiles from all over the world. These served as a source of inspiration. Thus, at first glance, his designs demonstrate a high recognition value, such as the Vitra Canvas Graphics from the Environmental Enrichment Collection: The bright colours and graphic quality have not lost any of their relevance today.
Since 1971, Alexander Girard has developed printing fabric panels as equipment for offices, in order to make them more livable with an emotional component: the Environmental Enrichment Panels. For the panels, the designer prefers to work with abstract graphic patters or figurative images such as love, comfort, freedom etc. The large wall panels with their diverse and inspiring motifs have often been used in private facilities.
The new edition of the Environmental Enrichment Panels by Vitra includes high-quality artistic canvas prints on linen in different sizes. The Vitra art prints are mounted on a board with distance frames, are easily mounted and become individual decorative pieces for homes and workplaces.
