Colourful Twergi Collection by Alessi
With the Twergi collection, Alessi has been reviving the centuries-old manufacturing tradition on the lathe since 1989. At that time many young designers were fascinated by the simplicity of the tool and together with the now famous designer Ettore Sottsass they designed different wooden products. Sottsass' designs convince with the combination of different sculptural shapes as well as bright colours, which are characteristic for the designer.
The name Twergi means leprechaun and is derived from the dialect spoken in the valleys that surround the Alessi company. It is said that the Twergi quickly changed their minds and taught people, among other things, to use wood and other resources of the forest. The collection was created in memory of the wood.
The Twergi collection includes practical kitchen accessories such as spice mills, corkscrews, storage boxes and bowls made of FSC-certified wood in cheerful bright colours and unusual shapes.
