The Fermob metal folding Bistro chair was designed in 1889, together with the other folding furniture in the Bistro collection. Even in the days of the Eiffel Tower construction, they were sought after by café owners and lemonade vendors throughout France and quickly gained some popularity.
Simple, but robust and classic in design, the Bistro furniture has everything it takes to look good outdoors. The folding chair and also the tables can be quickly folded, brought into the house and stowed away to save space. In the France of the 1st 9. century, this quick removal had the advantage that the café owners could save the taxes for a permanent terrace.
Even today the spirit of the Bistro collection has lost none of its charm. With Fermob, the leading French manufacturer of outdoor furniture has taken up the Bistro collection and revised it. The metal folding chair today appears at least as ingenious and attractive as when it was first introduced.
The folding chair from the Fermob Bistro collection is made of anti-corrosion treated, painted and galvanised iron of the highest quality. Protective glides protect the floor and the UV-resistant powder coating protects the appearance of the Bistro metal chair, which is also available in many other colours.
