Leon Ransmeier was born in New York in 1979. He graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2001, and in 2004 the American founded his own studio Ransmeier Inc. in New York.
Ransmeier believes that design starts with the will to change something. As a designer who is good with his hands, the American works on prototypes himself as feeling, seeing and testing is integral part of his creative process. Ransmeier likes to concentrate on just a few works, instead of producing many imperfect designs. With a lot of attention to detail, he works on solving the small problems first so as to create the perfect entirety at the end.
Throughout his career, Ransmeier has worked with firms such as Droog, Established & Sons and Herman Miller.
