Schneid has already designed a multitude of lights since its foundation in 2010. Schneid places high value on simple design as well as natural and ecological materials. The favourite material is clear at first sight: wood.
The first lights designed by Schneid are characterised by an organic shape and a particularly warm radiance which is created by the arrangement of slanting wooden slats. The Series A designed in 2011 which counts lights such as Volum and Pirum and is as then producted in North Germany was followed by the gorgeous light Zappy (2012). "Eikon" an expandable lighting system consisting of a turned wooden head made of ash and a removable and exchangeable metal shade was developed in 2013.
The driving forces behind the products are Niklas Jessen and Julia Mülling, however the collaboration with young creatives around them is also very important for both of the company founders.
All Schneid products follow the same philosophy: "We would like to make aesthetic lamps and furniture with a high requirement for ecology, locality, innovation and fairness towards people and the environment."
Schneid stands for the Scandinavian way of thinking and the designs are mostly formal, minimalist and functional.
