Design Lamp from the 1950s

The Trienniale TW002 pendant lamp by Artek was designed by Tapio Wirkkala in 1951. Wirkkala created the majority of his (approx.) 100 lights between 1959 and 1961. The Triennial pendant lamp made of glass was designed for the Finnish Pavilion at the Milan Triennal in 1951 and is one of his earliest works.

Pendant Lamp made of Opal Glass

The conical piece is elaborately made out of satin blown opal glass. The light shines so easily through the shade that it illuminates a room in a very special way.

Wirkkala was often inspired by nature. His work is characterised by his broad spectrum and his extraordinary craftsmanship.
