Description

Pendant lamp by Vilhelm Lauritzen

The well-known functionalist architect Vilhelm Lauritzen designed the Folkets Hus in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. It was originally designed for the Danish Labor Movement building and opened in 1956. Today it is used as a concert hall called Vega. The building is a total work of art, which means that Lauritzen designed everything in it - from door handles, stairs and sockets to furniture and lamps.

The VL 56 pendant lamp was one of the lamps Vilhelm Lauritzen designed for Vega. To this day, it hangs above the wood-paneled bar next to the concert hall. Both the chrome and brass versions were reintroduced in 2023 with slight adjustments and improvements.
