Gabriella Gustafson Mattias Ståhlbom compose the design duo TAF Architects. The studio was founded in Stockholm in 2002 and works in product and interior design all around the world.
The aim of the Swedish duo is to make every day a bit less ordinary through design: a new fresh perspective on the objects we use in our day-to-day lives. TAF Architects realises this approach with subtle yet effective changes to classic products. The result is often humorous and encourages us to think.
TAF Architects rely on traditional virtues: The use of wood is a central aspect is the work of Gustafson and Ståhlbom because this natural material has always been part of Scandinavian design tradition. TAF architects believes that Nordic design will remain important due to its social values and traditional materials. Therefore, they always add interesting new aspects to everyday furniture.
It did not take long for this approach to become successful: Products by TAF Architects have already been exhibited at the MoMA in New York and are part of permanent exhibits at the Danish Design Museum in Copenhagen.
