Georg Jensen - Cobra Candlestick

The German designer Constantin Wortmann likes to play with the perception of the viewer. His new candlestick for the Georg Jensen Living-Series is a typical example of his transformation vision: "The familiar silhouette of a conventional candlestick did I imagine with simple, organic curves." The solution is a candlestick , which seems to be melted, in which it exudes a flexible vitality, which is perfect through function. Because of its snail-like shape and power the obects gets its name – Cobra.

"Cobra leaves the impression as if the gravitation would float," says Wortmann. Placed single, it emanates a snail-like liveliness, while groups with two or more candlestick form a pliant, graceful candelabra. "And so many changes evolve, when the candlestick wiggle into each other."

The high-glossy stainless steel is requickened by the flickering of candles, which stands safely in the candlestick. A single candlestick conveys a cool and original statement. With the two-piece set you can create arrangements of subtle humour, which play a key roll in every interior design/decoration. The Cobra candlestick is also available in an edition with three arms.
