The filio collection was designed by Tassilo von Grolman in the 1980s. Delicate design and fine tea culture are here combined in a beautiful way.
The characteristic features of the filio series are the freely swinging glasses that are hung in a stainless steel frame. The glass forms are harmonious and round, while the shape of the delicate stainless steel frame reflects the curved lines. Thanks also to the frame's production from a single piece, the shape overall stays very subdued and clear. These features ensure that the mono filio collection appears timeless and carefree.
Preparing tea with the filio teapot is a fascinating sight: against a backdrop of glass, metal and light, the tea leaves float and release their full aroma. However the design isn't just visually appealing, as it's also very functional:
the last dregs and tea leaf residue remain in the filio teapot thanks to the special geometry of the glass ball. The glasses and tea cosy provide appropriate presentation when serving. The mono filio collection brings age-old tea culture to the modern era.For this achievement, the series by Tassilo von Grolman won the iF Design Award.
