The Norm 69 as basic for big success

Normann Copenhagen has been founded in the year 1999 by Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen. The idea behind Normann Copenhagen was and is still to establish a new design approach. Three years after the foundation, the first product of the company was presented: the Norm 69 lamp.
In terms of the following years, numerous further products followed as well as cooperation with namely designers and talents out of the whole world.

Normann Copenhagen – awarded design products

Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen moved from their small office to 1700 square meters rooms of the ancient Copenhagen cinema in 2005. The area didn’t only offer a suitable surrounding for awarded products to the company, but also served as events place for parties, expositions and other celebrations.

Normann Copenhagen doesn’t only understand its work as the work of a manufacturer of innovative design products, but as a way of life and as a point of view. Normann Copenhagen wants to break conventional design rules and challenge well-known habits. This is the main reason for the often usage of famous materials in new connections and utilities, such as for example silicone for a vase or rubber for a rinsing bowl.

Normann Copenhagen’s products are continuously awarded with namely design prizes.
