KitchenAid - A Manufacturer Revolutionising the Everyday Kitchen

KitchenAid makes high-quality mixers and tools. With the "integrated kitchen concept" from KitchenAid, any hobby chef worldwide can now enjoy an outstanding, first-class kitchen at home. The company can look back on a long tradition.

Its history began in the year 1908 in Troy, Ohio. The engineer Herbert Johnston observed a baker trying to mix his bread dough with a heavy iron spoon and decided to develop a better, easier method for him. The result of Johnston's work was the first commercial mixer: the Hobart Model H, which has been sold to bakeries and the US Navy ever since 2014. The great success prompted the Hobart engineers to go on to new developments.

As soon as 1919, Hobart presented the first electric mixer for the private household, the Model H-5. As the wives of Hobart's managers tried out the H-5, one of them remarked: "I don't care what you call it, this machine is the best kitchen utensil I've ever had." The KitchenAid® brand name was born - and was registered as a trademark at the US Patent Office.

Groundbreaking Innovations Make the KitchenAid Mixers Indispensable

Another revolutionary step:
in 1920 KitchenAid® patented the unique planetary mechanism in its mixer. Success grew and the "KitchenAid" became indispensable to a well-equipped kitchen. The first advertisements for KitchenAid® could be seen in magazines as early as 1923. In 1927 KitchenAid® introduced the new model G. Within three years 20,000 models of this lighter and more compact machine were sold than the Model H-5.

Even Henry Ford was a proud owner of this novelty from the "Roaring Twenties". The 30s were characterised by worldwide economic crisis. As a response to the "Great Depression", KitchenAid® engaged the nationally recognised industrial designer Egmont Arens in 1936 to develop three new models. The mixer had to be affordable, versatile and easy to use for every household.

In the following year, the K series designed by Arens was presented, which has remained more or less unchanged since.

KitchenAid Leaves a Mark on Kitchens Worldwide with Trendy Colours

In 1986, the KitchenAid® brand large product range was completed with refrigerators. After household coffee grinders (since 1938), the blender expanded the family of portable KitchenAid® appliances in 1992. In the following year, a stand mixer appeared in fresh, eye-catching colours.

In 1993 the first food processor models also followed. In 2001 KitchenAid® started its fundraisers for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a breast cancer aid association.

Since then a total of over $6 million has been donated.

Since 2005, KitchenAid® has also helped out in Germany with donations to Komen Germany e.V. The comprehensive product range of the kitchen specialist includes toasters, espresso machines, kitchen utensils, pots, mixers and built-in appliances so you can develop your full culinary skills and try them out in the kitchen in a professional manner.Do you want to buy KitchenAid products online?
