Danish industrial design
A. Wedel Madsen was a Danish modelmaker who in the 1950s found inspiration from everyday worklife to design a workshop lamp. Back then people were using different types of iron lamps in small workshops, – very heavy, but durable lights capable of resisting many years of use.
The shape of the workshop lamp is designed with a functional purpose in mind providing the best diffusion of down-light making it an excellent choice of light for work or social spaces in the home.
Originally the collection began with the sizes 28 and 35 cm for small workplaces and now the collection has been extended with a smaller size of 18 cm and a larger size of 50 cm to the modern home. Today the collection is made in aluminium and copper which brings a new kind of aesthetic to daily life.
