Christian Ghion

Christian Ghion, born in Montmorency, France in 1958, had to take a detour to finally arrive at design: After studying law for five years first, he finally discovered his love for great design. He studied at the École du Louvre and the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI), graduating in 1987.

In 1990, the 'Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris' award was bestowed on him. Ever since the French designer does not only works for famous furniture manufacturer like Cappellini and Driade, but he also designes household products for the Italian manufacturer Alessi. For the star chef Pierre Gagnaire, Ghion designed the restaurants in Paris, Tokyo and Dubai.

His works are included in the permanent collections of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Centre Georges Pompidou and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, as well as in many further collections across the globe. All of them share the same design language that combines significance and emotions with striking simplicity.
